Spicy Roasted Nuts

Nuts are a good choice when you’re looking for a healthy fat with protein and fiber—which is what we all should be looking for! This recipe is super simple and the big-flavored nuts are just right with a glass of red wine. It’s a good idea to keep a batch of these on hand for whenever the urge strikes.

Directions
- Assemble and measure ingredients. Preheat oven to 300°F/150°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil with salt, cumin, ginger, chili powder, cayenne, and cinnamon. Toss nuts in spice mixture to coat well. Spread nuts in a single layer on lined baking sheet and roast for 10-15 minutes, or until fragrant and dark brown in places. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes on pan before sprinkling lightly with salt flakes or crystals. Let cool completely.
- To serve, place nuts in a small bowl. Leftovers keep very well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
