Weight Tracking at Level2

At Level2, we are committed to providing you with the best possible support for your health journey. As part of this commitment, we will begin collecting weight data approximately once a month. Monitoring weight helps the Level2 Care Team understand and better support your overall health. We can track progress, celebrate your wins and identify weight trends to help with long-term goal setting.

We understand that weight is a personal topic, and we want to explain why this information is important and how it will be used to support your health goals.

Why is Weight Tracking Important?

Weight is just one of several health metrics we use to guide care. It can help your care team:

  • Monitor your overall health more effectively
  • Understand how lifestyle changes are working for you
  • Allow your clinicians to adjust medications as needed
  • Set long-term goals based on meaningful trends

Perspective from our Clinicians

From a clinical standpoint, we adhere to the American Diabetes Associations’ (ADA) Standards of Care.

The ADA states that weight management should represent a primary goal of type 2 diabetes treatment along with glycemic management [1].

Even modest weight loss can lead to improved glycemic control, reduced need for glucose-lowering medications, and better cardiovascular outcomes [2]. Tracking this data helps your care team provide more personalized support and make timely, informed decisions.

Perspective from our Coaches

For our coaches, weight tracking can help with goal check-ins and can indicate success with lifestyle changes. It can help us celebrate progress, revisit goals, and provide encouragement along the way.

Our Approach

We know weight can be a personal topic and we want you to feel as supported as possible. Here’s how we approach it:

  • Permission-Based: We will always ask before collecting your weight. If you’d rather not share, that’s completely okay.
  • Weight-Neutral Approach: We focus on a weight-neutral model that avoids stigma. You are not defined by a number.
  • Holistic Health Focus: Our program is not solely focused on weight loss. We recognize that small wins and changes over time result in significant health outcomes. We look beyond weight, considering factors such as behavior change, decreased blood sugar levels, energy levels and more.

No matter where you are in your journey, we’re here to support what health means to you. If you ever have questions or prefer to track independently, just let your care team know.
